LETTERS FROM THE PAST

The following links are to other sites where letters are published. Naturally these are not indexed on my site :-

Victorian Letters from India, Prussia & Greece (website of Francis Barnard)

A letter to William Dickinson of Bicker, near Boston, Lincs., UK from his son Tunnard Dickinson of Ohio, USA 1849 (website of Simon Meeds)

Various postcards (website of Malise McGuire)

OLD BRITISH LETTERS This website by Eunice & Ron Shanahan is really about postal history but includes a lot of great letters. It is well worth investigating. Eunice & Ron's main page is at http://www.home.gil.com.au/~ears/index.html

AN 1841 ALMANAC Although this is not a site containing old letters it does have lots of interesting transcripts from an 1841 Farmers Almanac and contains names, places and other information relating to the Penrith area of Cumberland (UK). The site is operated by Ian Porter.

BARRY TO BUENOS AIRES This is not a site containing old letters but is a transcript of a journal kept by Doris Kathleen SPICER recording her and her sister Norah Spicer's journey on the ship St.Oswald from Barry Dock, Glamorgan to Buenos Aires in 1913. It includes some names and photos of members of the crew and passengers and other linked pictures. The site belongs to Mark Spicer.
